The Forces of the Grand Duché d'Anchoise: Infantry

Next up, the forces of the Grand Duché d'Anchoise, starting with the seven regiments of foot. With the exception of the Grand-Duc's grenadiers, the Anchovian foot regiments wear white coats, with facings in a variety of colours, mostly pastel hues.

The Régiment des Grenadiers du Grand-Duc, based at Anchoise, is personally commanded by the Grand-Duc, Louis-Charles Joachim d'Anchoise. The Grenadiers are a combined grenadier regiment composed of the grenadier companies of the six Anchovian musketeer regiments. However, they do not retain their original regimental uniforms, but rather wear distinctive powder blue coats with white facings.

The Régiment des Mousquetaires de la Toire, based at Clignac, is commanded by Eugène François, Comte de Clignac. Facing colour is grass green.

The Régiment des Mousquetaires de l’Haute-Anche is based at Pontilly. Their colonel is  Henri-Paul, son of the Vicomte de Pontilly. Facing colour is pink.

The Régiment des Mousquetaires du Boisblanc, their depot at Malaise, is commanded by Antoine Emmanuel, Comte de Malaise. Facing colour is lavender-violet.

The Régiment des Mousquetaires du Bec, based at Repentigny, is commanded by Jean-Pierre, son of the Comte de Repentigny. Facing colour is yellow.

The Régiment des Mousquetaires du Pont d'Or is based at Échantillon. Their colonel is Gérard, Chevalier d'Entrelac. Facing colour is powder blue.

The Régiment des Mousquetaires du Valhaute, based at Pontilly, is commanded by Pierre Ferdinand, Vicomte de Pontilly. Facing colour is capucine (a colour which likely did not bear that name in the 1760s).

  1. Beautiful! I'll not write 'lovely' about certainly fierce and manly soldiers, but that's the idea :)
